Lifeline Screening
This is a non-invasive screening, offered annually, using a Doppler ultrasound to detect arterial abnormalities which can cause disruptive blood flow. Three screenings are done: the carotid artery detects any buildup of plaque which can cause strokes, the abdominal aortic aneurysm detects the existence of an enlargement in the abdominal artery that could lead to a ruptured artery, and the peripheral arterial disease detects lower extremity arterial problems which could lead to coronary artery disease.
