Prayer Shawl Ministry

Knitting into the Mystery of God with the Prayer Shawl

The simple act of knitting or crocheting has allowed people to witness to God’s mysterious love in a very tangible and concrete form as these shawls are given to those going through difficult life challenges. They are woven with prayers for God’s love and healing in people’s lives; their bodies, minds, and spirits. The Prayer Shawl is given to members of the congregation on the visitations by the parish nurse.

Knitters and crocheters are always wanted. Yarn can be provided.

Knitting into the Mystery of God:

Begin with a prayer asking that God’s love be woven into the yarn in your hands and that those who would receive the shawls might know God’s comforting and healing presence. Continue to weave your prayers as you knit.
