Welcome to the Women's Ministry of St. John's Lutheran Church
The Women’s Ministry of St. John’s is an active unit of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Our organization serves Christ through time, talents, gifts, and services. Your time and special gifts are needed! Your fellowship and faith service are wanted!
There are many and various ways in which to share fellowship and spiritual growth with the women of St. John’s. We welcome you to extend your service to Christ at St. John’s through the ways in which Christ leads you to serve.
Serve as an officer and a leader, opportunities exist for:
- Financial Secretary: Make deposits, issue checks and balance monthly books. Create a monthly and annual balance report.
- Recording Secretary: Take meeting notes and issue correspondence as required.
- At-large members
- Chairwoman: Lead a monthly meeting and work a proposed agenda. Coordinate and cooperate with other church committees as needed.
- Positions on the church council: Attend Congregational Council meetings and report to women's committee.
- Plan and implement program ideas: Work with committee to plan programs, activities, and fellowship events for the St. John’s Women’s Ministry
- Computer skills and graphic design
- Participate in circle groups
Opportunities exist for evening groups and morning groups:
- Participate in Women’s Bible Studies
- Sew for mission projects
- Help with food preparation for fund-raisers, funerals, weddings, etc.
- Scandinavian Dinner assists (October/November) i.e. food donations, cash donations, serving, food preparation
- Donate food items for the annual Bake Sale (November/December)
- Provide child care for special events
- Contribute to the mitten tree (November/December)
- Gather materials for Spring Welcome Boxes to benefit Lutheran Social Service relief efforts (save your shoe boxes)
