Dear St. John's friends,
We strive to continue to keep you updated on the situation here at church. Thank you for reading. God's peace and presence be with you as we trust the Holy Spirit comforting and holding all of us during this challenging time.
COVID-19 Closure - our campus and building remain closed until August 19 (this includes the StaySafeMN order here in Minnesota) . All in-person worship and activities are either cancelled or happening online. We will make another statement on July 8 about our status for the next 10-day period.
Utilize our website - your primary source for current information should be www.sjlcl.org. Go there before any place else. You will be able to:

Please communicate with church friends who do not use the internet or computer - this is the most important thing we can do right now: stay in touch with your church friends and especially pass on church information to those who do not use a computer. Since our primary and broadest way to communicate is via internet (email, e-blasts, YouTube worship videos, website, etc.), some people are going to be left out of more current communication. Do what you can to help get information to these folks or even help them get online more frequently
Sign up for communications - If you or someone you know has not signed up for e-blasts like this from church, please do so now and help others to do the same. Go to our website, www.sjlcl.org, look right below the logo in the upper left corner and click on "Subscribe to St. John's Notices," fill in the fields with your information, and at least be sure to click the box "General announcements" below your information. This will help you stay most current with information
During this challenging time, let's keep identifying blessings in our lives. Start your day with a prayer of thanks for all those who are on the front lines of combatting the virus, as well as those are blessings of hope in your life. This will begin your day on the right note and will help you keep a life-giving perspective. Give thanks to God for carrying us in God's love.
To close, feel free to pray this prayer shared with us by a friend of St. John's. God's peace to you this day:
May we who are merely inconvenienced remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors remember those who are most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home remember those who must choose between preserving their health and making their rent.
May we who have the flexibility of caring for our children (when their schools close) remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips remember those who have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home remember those who have no home.
During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other, let us find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors.
As fear grips our country, let us choose love.
