Sunday Morning Education
A.C.E. - Adult Christian Education
The Adult Christian Education (A.C.E.) ministry is an opportunity to continue to grow with others while on the Christian journey. A.C.E. is held each Sunday morning, September through May at 9:40 in the Sanctuary. Specific Bible study units are announced prior to the start of each unit. Everyone is welcome to participate in all or part of each unit of study.
Older ACE sessions are available on CD in the church office.
ACE on Sunday Mornings, Today: St. John's & Muhanga: Partners in God's Mission with Rev. Peter Harrits. Walking Bega Kwa Bega (Shoulder to Shoulder in Swahili) with the people of Muhanga Parish in the ELCT Iringa Diocese, the people of St. John's have been faithful companions on the journey of God's Mission. In this session we'll review the incredible work that you've done together and wonder, together, how God might be calling you to deeper engagement—both in Tanzania and much closer to home. The Rev. Peter Harrits is the SPAS Director of Bega Kwa Bega and Assistant to the Bishop. In this role, Harrits divides his time between offices in Iringa and the synod offices in St. Paul helping to facilitate meaningful companion congregation relationships, supervising a team of cross-cultural volunteers, and serving as an ambassador for the Saint Paul Area Synod to their companions in central Tanzania. As an assistant to the Bishop, he is keenly interested in congregations’ local and global partnerships as well as opportunities to meaningfully engage young adults who call the Twin Cities home. Peter and his wife, Jenny, live in St. Paul with their daughter and two energetic dogs.
