Interfaith Climate Conversations with Susan Mullin, Senior Faith Leader Fellow, MN Interfaith Power & Light. Plan to attend this special presentation of Climate Conversations, as Susan leads us in sharing stories of connection and exploring how our faith calls us to act in response to climate change. MNIPL helps participants connect with their values and what they care about most, before articulating together the realities of our changing climate and how we can take action together. This approach was developed, in part, based on the work of Anthony Leiserowitz and the Yale Project on Climate Communication. Their findings noted that while 70% of people in the US believe climate change is happening, less than one-third ever talk about it with others. This is why MNIPL worked to create a heart-based, values-based conversation model that opens up dialogue and exploration, and can deepen a community’s connection. Susan Mullin facilitates climate conversations and Be the Spark leadership development workshops. She recruits and supports Climate Justice Congregations to deepen their response to climate change. She preaches and teaches in congregations and resources MNIPL’s team of Movement Builders. Susan is an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church, most recently serving as Minister of Faith Formation and Community Outreach at Faith UMC in St. Anthony Village. Prior to becoming a United Methodist clergywoman, she was a Professional Geologist consulting with clients on groundwater contamination issues. For more information, please visit:
